This painting was commissioned by a lady who worked for an oil company and was seconded to Perth. She live on Marine Parade in Cottesloe and loved the beach and the views. She asked me to paint the scene at dusk. I chose that magic moment when the sun has gone down and suddenly the sea is lighter than land so that a strange light emanates from it as though Neptune's Kingdom is coming alive for the evening's entertainment.
