This wonderful tree is an Boab painted in the Kimberley Region of NW Australia, off a wild 4WD track. The trees store water against drought and are often hollow. They have been used for living in and even as a jail, in Derby. They originally came from Madagascar. I tried to capture the strength and rich beauty of the Boab.
