Artist/Gallery notes
To me a familiar scene painted from a familiar location. I love the view across the Swan Valley from the foothills of the Darling Ranges. As I worked, two small boys came from the nearby house to chat to me. The converging lines are the vines, punctuated by the dark trees and distant woodlands, always remind me of Van Gogh, but in this painting the colours are the golds and blue greens of Lloyd Rees.
