Artist/Gallery notes
This was inspired by a Lloyd Rees painting of cliffs with the dark sky pouring out and down the escarpment. It was painted from my offices in Ernst & Young up on the 35th floor of Central Park. The view is the Kings Park escarpment below Kings Park Road. I was mainly interested in the way in which the buildings and trees had become part of the weathered texture of the surface of the cliff and not the accurate rendition of the scene, but I believe that the central building is a large octagonal(?) building overlooking the city.
