The road forks and we have a choice: to climb the hill and arrive breathless at the top; to see the vista that we dreamed of winding rivers, tracks and hamlets, fields and distant smoke so blue, rocks and trees and fantasies so old and new; or to take the winding path along the river to the distant sea. It does not matter for reality is a much closer thing.
